Me voici!

Me voici!

I’m back!

BUT…the server languished unfixed in my absence, so I can’t post pictures.

AND I am exhausted, so I will wait until I can post pictures, which should be by tomorrow, to get started.

For the Parisian Prizes. There is a REASON I had to eat them all. It involves excessive baggage weight and the flat refusal of the airline to accept our luggage AT ALL unless I lightened the load.

And you know how much chocolate weighs.

Or possibly the excess weight was those slate roof tiles from Vaux-le-Vicomte, but you know I couldn’t eat those.

More later!

  • Hooray, welcome back! You know, slate might have valuable minerals in it…

Also, the next time someone won’t let you cross the Atlantic because there’s too much chocolate in your luggage, feel free to mail the surplus to me. I’ll take very good care of it.

    I’m here to help.

  • I’d heard those slate roof tiles from Vaux-le-Vicomte are made of 85% dark chocolate too…sigh

  • I tried to email you re: your comment on my post but it bounced back…your email changed in your absence, I assume. So here’s the shortened version:

Thank you all the same! (for the advice, I mean.) If it were solely my decision to make, I’d be right there with you. I hate to live ruled by fear. But. This whole marriage thing. It does involve compromise, doesn’t it. And so we keep talking talking talking….

    So glad you’re back!

  • My email hasn’t changed but it’s this aggravating server problem. It was supposed to be fixed today, but maybe it will be fixed tomorrow. I didn’t realize it was bouncing them back, I just knew I couldn’t download them.

I am now fantasizing about having a bar of chocolate as big as a slate roof tile (FOUR slate roof tiles) of 85% dark chocolate. Or maybe 70. I am more a 70% person.

  • Laura’s back! Yah yah! Doing a happy dance. Missed your cheerful posts. And your chocolate posts. It’s all your fault I now keep a stash of dark chocolate in my bedside drawer. More goofy dancing…

  • Hi Laura!

I read your delightful book a few weeks ago and *loved* it! When I was reading it I thought, hmmm, this sounds like Carrollton (where I lived and taught at your alma mater for 1 year). So I was even more delighted to see from your website that I was correct.

I am also a chocolate devotee:) Especially French chocolate…Pralus…Cluizel…yummy. I have yet to visit Paris but your book definitely increased my desire to go ASAP.

Love your blog too and all the other happy chocolate fans posting here!

  • Chocolate. Slate tiles. Chocolate. Slate tiles. Hmmmm, which to eat? I think you picked the correct thing. Welcome back. And just in time for the summer heat! What timing. 🙂

  • THANK you, dharmagirl. Music to my ears. I popped onto your blog and saw you and I have the same attitude about summer. 🙂

Jayne, the choice was surprisingly easy to make. Although Sébastien many times threatened to toss the slate tiles, which he ended up carrying.

Thank you everyone for all the welcomes!
