Mommy down with a virus, baby down with a virus (poor baby bunny!), and a house full of guests! We never do things halfway around here. Just when the weather has turned gorgeous, too.

Meanwhile, Carol over at Paris Breakfasts is just TEMPTING you to make a ganache, and I TOLD you it was easy. (Heat cream. Pour it over good quality chocolate. Wait a couple of minutes and stir. You refine proportions according to purpose, and you can add flavorings, but–I’m telling you, it’s not complicated! Can’t talk more about food right now, see stomach virus above.)

Mimi at French Kitchen is continuing the Biscuit Mix event, showing off lots of easy, delicious recipes.

And over on Dee & Dee, the contests for Alyssa Day (Alesia Holliday) and Lani Diane Rich’s books are ongoing.

News flash: Alesia/Alyssa Day’s book has hit the Barnes & Noble overall mass market bestseller list, as well as the Borders. This is fantastic news! We shall all claim to have known her when. Also, I will blackmail her about the red boots.

Anyway…I do have a conversation to continue to engage in vis- -vis the last post, but…I shall have to do that later. Hope you enjoy all the above!

  • (((((((((((poor Baby)))))))))) to Baby and Laura!
It must be going around. I called in to work today because I have my TWO babies getting sick all over. Of course, that was this morning. They are trying to convince me that they’re well enough now to eat ice cream.
And me? Ugh. I don’t feel all that great either.
But at least I don’t have a house full of guests.
    Get lots of rest, Laura.

  • My youngest had this a few weeks ago. I hope it moves quickly for you. Good luck & hope you feel better soon!

  • Yes, Laura, take care of yourself. We will be here when you get back.

That Carol! She is always tempting us with something!

I wonder how I can use biscuit mix in a ganache…lol.

  • Take care of yourself and that adorable little bunny. I’m going to drool over the ganache a little more.

  • Really hoping that you’re feeling better soon. I read through that whole thing over at DA about authors commenting on reader’s blogs. If it wouldn’t have been 3 weeks too late, I would have chimed in there. Some people made really good points, but I still had stuff coming up in my head about what others had to say. Seriously, I thought about it all night. Parts of it really pissed me off.
I will most assuredly wait to see where you go with your post before saying more, but am looking forward to having the discussion continued.
And really, really, hoping that you and beautiful baby are feeling all better now.

Well, putting off doing any real work and reading your blog, sissie. Sorry you and Mia are sick–think of it as building good immunities.

I just want to make a general comment that your blog IS BAD FOR ANYONE TRYING TO DIET!!! Now I know chocolate is full of anitoxidants and very good for you and the FDA or whoever has made a huge mistake in not putting it at the bottom of the food pyramid, but mixing it with cream? (Of course there’s all that calcium in cream) Reading your blog really makes one want to forget about any work MAKING anything and just run out and BUY some good fat-laden milk chocolate. CHOCOLATE CHOCOLATE CHOCOLATE See? You’re a bad influence.

PS–I like how it says “welcome back Mary Kay” and my comments are no longer [what WAS the word!!! considered/checked/censored] before they are posted.
