Friday Book Club! What are you reading over the holidays?
Friday Book Club! What are you reading over the holidays? Is this a good time for you to curl up with a book, or do things get too busy with family and cooking? I kind of like the balance — lots of fun with people and cooking, and then a quiet armchair by the fire with a cup of hot chocolate. (Good hot chocolate. I can give recipes!)
There’s a book out this week that I read a month or so ago (advanced copy) that I really loved: Shadowdance by Kristen Callihan (AMZ: Shadowdance: The Darkest London Series: Book 4
). Have any of you started this series? Do you read steampunk? I’ve enjoyed the whole series, but particularly loved Jack and Mary in this one.
And TONIGHT I’m curling up with the novella The Geek with the Cat Tattoo, by Theresa Weir (AMZ: Geek with the Cat Tattoo (Cool Cats)
). I just loved, loved the first one, most particularly for the point of view of Max the Cat on the romance. (I wouldn’t have thought myself someone to be utterly charmed by an animal point of view, but this one really works for me!) And that first one is only 0.99 right now, so if you’re curious, good chance to grab it! I can’t wait to read Book 2 tonight.
What about you? What are you reading?

I just finished reading Alice Clayton’s The Redhead Plays Her Hand. I’m thinking I’ll read Katie McGarry’s Crash into You and Karen Hawkins’s How to Capture a Countess this weekend but I guess it’ll depend on how much time I get.

I’ve been hearing a lot of good talk about Crash Into You. You’ll have to let us know what you think of them!

I’ll be curling up with books 3, 4 and possible 5 in Julia Quinn’s Bridgerton Family series.
Laura Florand
Are these comfort re-reads or your first time with the series?
Laura
Well, since I’ve already finished A Rose in Winter and The Chocolate Heart I plan to read Kate Perry’s Perfect You because my hold on the ebook version of it from my library should be coming up at some point in the next day or two. I am also finishing Jay Crownover’s Jet this weekend (probably tonight when I get home from looking at Christmas lights!).
I can’t wait for The Chocolate Temptation!
Laura Florand
Thank you, Laura! 🙂

I just finished The Countess Conspiracy by Courtney Milan, which came out just this week I think. And, oh what a brilliant book it is. I am in awe of how she manages such sheer brilliance every single time!
