Friday Book Club: Stocking Up for the Plane Ride, What Are Your Recs?

FRIDAY BOOK CLUB! What are you all reading? I am stocking up for the plane ride so need your recs. I’ve been mostly reading non-fiction books lately, research for the Roses series primarily, so I’m probably a little behind on some of the latest books. (I still haven’t read Lost Lake, if you can believe it. And I love Sarah Addison Allen!)

What are you reading? Anything you recommend? Anything you’re looking forward to this weekend?

And THANK YOU ALL for all the encouragement and feedback for the cover of ONCE UPON A ROSE! We’re looking at mid-August for the release date. Here’s a little image that evokes a scene in the book to help tide you over!

  • I am reading and enjoying Emily Giffin’s new book – The One and Only. It’s not a fast paced read, and you I think you have to have some sort of love of football to really enjoy it. But I do love her books.

I’m also starting Fall from India Place by Samantha Young. This is the 4th book in a series I absolutely love, if you have never had a chance to read them!

    Have a great weekend!

I’ve actually been reading “The Chocolate Temptation” this weekend! (Love, by the way.) And the latest Nalini Singh. Also love. And a recent Kindle find: “Artistic License” by Elle Pierson, which was rec’d on an Amazon thread. Also loved. I have a soft spot for a hero who isn’t cookie-cutter handsome. So 3 for 3 on the book count this weekend!

And actually stopped by to see if there’s any news on an upcoming Rosier novel. And I see it’s down for August – yay! I’m on thesis deadline at the moment, so time, of course, is flying by at the speed of light. Bad for my procrastinating habits; good in terms of anticipated releases!

I know this is really late and you have probably already taken your trip, but I really loved the book “Revolution” by Jennifer Donnelly. It is labeled as young adult, but I found it to be haunting. If you are looking for something funny to read try Wedding Night by Sophie Kinsella; or even better, listen to it as an audio book.
