Bonne fête de la Bastille!

Bonne fête de la Bastille!

Okay, I’m not actually making a speech here. They did not REALIZE they had a WORLD FAMOUS CELEBRITY in their midst. I went incognito. That must be why.

And, okay, this isn’t Bastille Day. It’s the Fête de la Rose in Plascassier.

But I don’t have that many pictures with the French flag on them, so…we’re working with what we have, all right?

Happy July 14th! Go eat something French to celebrate. And if you see any peasants: GIVE THEM CAKE.

  • I saw Ratatouille today. Does that count? 🙂
Now I would like to eat that cake up there.

  • I saw the movie today too!!! What a cute movie. Definitely counts. Especially since I had to throw out the last piece of cake this morning. Who knew cake wouldn’t wait around forever while I saved it for a special occasion?

Oh, and Ken’s performing at a concert celebrating the Marquis de Lafayette this evening (we live in the town named after him and there’s a big year long celebration marking the something or other anniversary of his birthday – my brain is fried and refuses to remember numbers). I’m not going to the concert, however, since it will be on past the little one’s bedtime, but I’m cheering them on in spirit.

I was in Meudon on “Bastille Day”. I had a lovely view from the park that overlooks Paris, watching the fireworks. If only I had had some cake!
