2K de Chocolat

2K de Chocolat

Two kilos of chocolate is really not that much chocolate.

chocolat2k.jpg

This is, I believe, 1.87 kilos of chocolate. If you want to know what happened to the other 0.13, remember it was a long flight.

You see how quickly two kilos can disappear?

Every time I go into a grocery store in France, there are entire aisles of chocolate. In the U.S.: entire aisles of cereal or CANDY, which is NOT the same as chocolate. In France: chocolate. The real thing.

What do you expect me to do? Not try it? Lindt keeps putting out new flavors over there, too.

FOUR kilos, now, or even FIVE, that would make a lovely photo. Especially if it included some HIGH END FANCY CHOCOLATE with it.

But that story is too fresh a wound to tell. Maybe in a month or so. You can guess, in the meantime.

What DID happen to that chocolate?
Here are some ideas:
a) I ate some of it.

b) I ate all of it.

c) Something Too Terrible and Horrible to be Told.

  • Hey, welcome home!
Aisles of chocolate and a Eiffel Tower birthday candle…sweeeet! I will come back with tissues for the sad story regarding some chocolate that didn’t *sniff* survive 🙁

  • You left it in a black rental car on a hot day and it melted? That’s what happened to my chocolate in London, but it was only Cadbury so that wasn’t nearly as sad a story as your story will probably be. Well, whatever happened, I offer my condolences. Even if you ate it.

  • What happened to the chocolate!? What!? You are a cruel woman, teasing us like this. Leading us on only to leave us….

    unsatisfied.

Thereare names for women who tease men like this. Names. Maybe we need to come up with a new name for women who withhold chocolate, even if it’s just in the form of a story. (that might be even worse….)

  • I can heartily recommend the Eiffel Tower bakery on the corner of Avenue de la Bourdonnais and Rue de Montessuy for chocolate desserts. The have towers made of chocolate…

  • My answer is A and C. I love food shopping in Europe, especially their candy stores. It’s really awesome, so I completely understand your feeling, Laura 😀 and it’s true that there’s so many flavors over there that we don’t have here in North America… it’s really unfair.

  • I guess C) someone at airport security was in a chocolate emergency and absconded your chocolate in the name of transportation authority but really it was because they were desperate for a chocolate fix and they didn’t need it all but only took some…leaving you with only 2K and memories of the missing chocolate.

Thanks for the chocolate recommendations. I use Valrhona to bake with when it’s just after payday:) Or Lindt…but not exciting flavors. Sigh.

  • Mimi, you have to show us pictures of the towers of chocolate! I hope you took some? (Mimi is back from a trip to France, too, everyone, so is sharing things on her blog as well, French Kitchen in America.)

Laume, I AM the chocolate witch. Mwahahaha!
